Making over a bedroom for a teenage girl, with her own style!

I have finally decided to give Desiree the room makeover that she has wanted for a couples of years now. What I didn't realize, is how difficult it would be. She has her own style and is more open to color than I am, so working with her was both challenging and fun. It caused me to have to remove myself as mom and listen to her more as a client.

The first thing we agreed on was her wall color. She found the inspiration using a pinterest image of nail polish.

Everything came together really nicely, and her bedroom is perfectly her own...a bold touch of masculine and detailed touches of femme!

This might be my favorite corner of our home.

Master Bedroom

We have been in our home for two years now and things are finally starting to feel more homey. And somehow, "his" side of our master bedroom, might be my favorite corner in our home.

We are lucky enough to have double sliding doors, that lead directly to the backyard, and of course I did not want to be on that side of the bed.  It was too close to the doors. Now, every time that I clean our bedroom, and the morning light shines in, that is the first place I start and the first place that the light hits.

So naturally, I am drawn to "his" side, my favorite side of our master bedroom.

We use that beautiful horn tray for keys and random pocket contents. We bought it few years ago from Restoration Hardware.

A mix of Styles: Textures and Tones

A little while ago, I had the pleasure of working with a very fun loving couple who were not afraid of bold design and textures. They were very open and had a great idea of what they wanted. After only 24 hours we had made selections for the main rooms of their new home.
Some areas are very delicate and feminine, while others are extremely masculine.
Follow us on this beautiful journey as we blend these two styles in one amazingly beautiful home.
