We are moving...Again!

We have only been in this house for two years, and we are moving again. At first, I was so emotional and did not want to let go. I had plans for all the rooms and things that I wanted to do here. Lots of design inspiration came from being here, lots of challenges came from being here and well, now it's just time to go and I am ready.

We have known for some time now, that we would be moving, and it took me a few months to accept it. Now that I have, I feel so excited for the changes and all that it entails.

I still have so much that I desire to do here. This house has so much potential. With big or small changes, the transformations that could occur here are endless. A part of the delay and dilema was having to design for myself.  (That's another story, for another time.)

This house has been great, and I am immensely thankful for the time that we spent here. Both Thrive Design Studio and our family grew here!

How to decorate your entryway using things you already own.

I absolutely love blossoms, I picked them from the citrus tree in our back yard. They smelled great!

I realize that most people don't really use their entryways anymore, but if you are like me, you still enjoy making it look inviting. In our home, we mostly use the garage when we come and go, but I make it a point to sit in my front room everyday; so naturally I want my space to look good. Our entryway is kind of non existent in a way, it's really just a small wall by the stairs, and it can certainly just be left clear. But since I enjoy moving things around, I generally decorate my entryway using things that I already own, like stools and or consoles. Then I dress it up a bit more by adding design books, flower, greenery, my favorite candles and other decorative accessories.

Below are a few ways that I have made changes this year!

I also LOVE the way the light plays in this room at different times of the day.

These branches are from the beautiful magnolia tree in our front yard. The green is so beautifully vibrant and is an easy way to add color.

This set up, I used a hand painted console, that I aquired about eight years ago from a dear friend. A few collected items, books, decor and in case you missed it...I have also painted the wall White.
